Android iOS popularity

In mobile operating system market share- Android is taking over the market does thatmean its better than iOS ??

Well here’s my answer!
ITS NOT! android is a iOS competitor but it cannot be stated better than iOS. both are pretty good, while android seems to have copied apples fresh interface .iPhone OS was completely different than anyother mobile OS at the time of its release while android was not.

Android OS smartphones ranked first among all smartphone OS handsets sold in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2010, at 33%. iOS is ranked third with 22%.[7]

Here’s a explaination to this popularity statistics:
As you know iOS serves just 3 main iDevices viz.iPod,iPhone and iPad.
Android serves LG,Samsung,HTC,dell,motorola,etc
That’s simple, now even if both had the same popularity, android being used by number of companies (off course, its free right?) will be more popular as it is run by a number of devices. Its like keeping 100 stuff on sale and atleast 10 get sold .. while keeping 1000 stuff on sale and atleast 100 get sold [hope you understood that logic].

well same is the case with blackberry popularity, its not that popular cause its doesn’t serve as many devices as android.

Only if Mr.Steve Jobs let other mobile companies use iOS, it would beat all mobile operating systems .
